It makes sense that you should feel comfortable taking your vehicle to the shop. I have been looking for a mechanic for a long time, and there was a few shops that I just wasn't comfortable leaving my car with. If I was in a truck that I relied on for my work, that would be my highest priority.

Yes, to find a reliable car mechanic is often gets hard for most of the car owner. It can happen that you have the nearest auto repair shop and before you approach them make sure you have sound information and knowledge about the workshop. Also you have to examine whether the car mechanic have performed any repair work successfully or not. You have to also asses and see the mechanic are ASE certified or not. This means the car mechanic is educated well enough to properly solve and repair every car issues with higher success. Thanks for the post.

First of all thank you for such an informative post. There are several automotive repair shops they are totally focused on how they can make money from there customer without doing much thing. From my experience, due to some problem in my engine I took my BMW to one automotive repair shop in an emergency situation. They took some time to fix the problem and after sometime they return my car and told me that the problem has been solved. After some days I found the same problem in my engine. Later I found that automotive repair center is not certified one. The thing is that, money doesn't mater but repair shops should do there best to repair the cars instead of just taking huge amount of money.

It is a very informative post. And make me aware about why we should take our vehicle to an ASE certified automotive repair shop. If I could read this post some week before, then I wouldn't suffer as I am suffering now. Last month due to some problem in the engine of my vehicle I take it to an automotive repair shop. As I was new to that locality I didn't aware about that automotive shop. They just repair my car in few minutes and told me that they had fixed the problem. But after some time the problem was repeated again and when I concerned about the problem with an ASE certified mechanic, the problem was much bigger than I thought it would be.

It is really very helpful article. Its true that, we should take our car to an ASE certified and trusted mechanics, as they are best in their job. But if we are in a new locality, then we should do some research on the repairing shop before we concerned with them about the problem of our vehicle. We should find out whether the repairing shop is affordable or not, whether it has ASE certified mechanics or not, they are customer friendly or not etc. If we find everything is fine with the repairing shop then we should take our vehicle to them for repair. Thank you.

A friend of mine was thinking about moving to a new area, and we were curious about how you would find the right person to repair his car. I really like that you say to make sure they are highly educated. It would be nice to know that they are keeping up with the most recent tactics.

I agree that you shouldn't always just choose the mechanic with the most flashy advertising. You want to consider what their quality is like. You need to make sure they are reputable and trustworthy to help you in any situation.

I like how you talk about looking for a mechanic that you can trust your vehicle with, especially when it comes to bringing them in for an annual check-up since taking care of a car is an investment in itself. One thing to consider when it comes to looking for a reliable mechanic is to make sure that they're certified and licensed in order to service cars so that you're sure that whatever you would be needing is top-notch quality. If I had a chance to bring a car into an auto repair shop, I would make sure that I point out everything that's wrong with it so that the mechanics wouldn't have a hard time finding what's wrong in order to save them some time.

My husband's car has been having a problem where the engine has been stalling, so we need to find a good mechanic for the job. I agree that you should make sure the mechanics working on your vehicle are highly educated in fixing vehicles. Choosing a cheaper option isn't always the best idea, even though it feels like it is. You want quality over quantity.

However, your reminder that we should take our car for preventative maintenance is equally important. I have a foreign car and I haven't gotten around to take it to a repair shop for maintenance. It was mentioned that it is important to look into the certification of the mechanics when taking in your vehicle. My brother recently started up his own trucking company and would like to have a mechanic on call in case anything happens to any of his trucks while on the road. Are there different certifications for diesels than other vehicles?

You make a great point about getting a mechanic who is certified in the state. I need to get a mechanic to replace a serpentine belt. It is super frayed and will snap at any second.
